Was my Grandmother's birthday!
The party people included:
Three widowers
Two divorcees
One happy couple
Two teenagers
and
One nine year-old.
So, the question came to me:
What has society done to make women believe that they cannot be happy without their significant others?
These women, when brought together talked only of their husbands. Oh, well if
he was here,
he would have... Yes, this is the jewelry
he bought me.
I mean, I know there is a significant amount of grief that comes with loosing a loved one, but it seems weird that a person could be so dependent on them.
A few guys have asked my why I don't belive in love, and I guess this would be the reason why.
I don't want to end up like these women. Spending their lives thinking about their loss and talking about someone who's no longer there.
Without loving that "other male" you never really have to experience something like that.
mmk. i gotta argue with this one.
i am perfectly happy without my significant other on a regular basis. i love him, but i love other things too. it's not that i can't be happy without him, but that i want so much to share my happiness with him (i hate long distance... and this is a pathetic excuse for long distance)... if that's considered dependence then so be it..
although sometimes i think jewelry can be considered a 'leash' of sorts...
and you know full well they did not talk only about their husbands if they had children because they talk about the kidlets too.
