Why is it that...

Our smoke alarms feel the need to announce their low batteries IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

Like, if I was sick, I'd try my darndest to clean what was needed and tell my parents in the morning.
But not smoke alarms, that's not what they think. They want their battery changed... AND NOW!

It's sooo frickin' loud. And scary too.
I mean, what the hell am I supposed to think when the smoke alarm goes off in the middle of the night?
"Haha, I'm just a silly smoke alarm playing silly smoke alarm games, teehee, no fire here!"
No, I'm scared shitless because as far as I'm concerned there's a damn fire in the house!

It also doesn't help that the alarms feed off eachother. So one goes off, they all go off. At least... the one's at the bottom of the stairs, mine and my parent's goes off.
I'm begining to doubt if Cristen and Gina's goes off, on account that whenever these things go off at night... THEY NEVER WAKE UP.
Oh yeah, these things work great.
THEY SLEEP THROUGH THEM!
I have no clue how they do it. It is such an earsplitting sound... and a scary one too. Not just a loud radio or something.
THIS IS AN ALARM.
Even if it is erronous.

Now I have to try and get to bed before the alarm goes off for work.

I just needed to vent because waking up from a scary dream (triggered by the first burst of the smoke alarm) sweating is not my style.
Erika just does not have scary dreams.
And she doesn't wake up sweating, unless she sleeps in camping.

Grrrrr.
CURSE YOU LIFE SAVING DEVICE!
(Only not really because in the event of an actual fire I'd love to have those things saving my ass, I'll I'm saying with this post is could you please wait until at least six to talk about a battery change?!)
